1September2026 Lex Nexus Partners and AAK Foundation Host Seminar on Gender-Based Violence and Protection of Minor Girls
Lex Nexus Partners, in collaboration with the Abida Abdul Khaliq Foundation (AAK Foundation), hosted a seminar titled “End Violence Against Women”, bringing together approximately 40 participants for an important discussion on gender-based violence, with a particular focus on the protection of minor girls.
Held on 1 September 2026, the seminar formed part of a collaborative effort to promote awareness, strengthen protection mechanisms and encourage meaningful community and institutional action against violence affecting women and girls.
The programme brought together individuals from different professional and community backgrounds to examine the challenges surrounding gender-based violence and identify practical opportunities for greater protection, support and intervention.

The programme also included a dedicated presentation on gender-based violence and sexual harassment, particularly in relation to minor girls.
Beyond presentations, participants were encouraged to contribute directly through an interactive group session focused on mapping available services, identifying existing gaps and exploring opportunities for action.
The discussions concluded with the consolidation of recommendations, agreed action points and a proposed way forward, helping ensure that the seminar moved beyond awareness towards practical and collaborative action.
The event reflected the shared belief of AAK Foundation and Lex Nexus Partners that lasting progress requires cooperation between civil society, legal professionals, community organisations and other stakeholders.

The seminar concluded with remarks from Dr Aabida Abdul Khaliq, Chairperson of AAK Foundation, Arooj Un Nisa, Founding Partner and Ali Shazib Senior Associate of Lex Nexus Partners.
With approximately 40 participants in attendance, the event provided a valuable platform for discussion, knowledge-sharing and collective reflection on how communities and institutions can better protect women and girls.
