Privacy policy
What this site collects, what it is used for, and who it is shared with.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers information the firm receives through this website. Information the firm holds about a client in the course of acting is governed by its professional obligations of confidentiality, which are stricter than this policy.
2. What the site collects
The enquiry form asks for a name, an email address, a telephone number, the type of matter and a message. Only the name, email address and message are required. Nothing else is gathered from you by the site itself.
As with any website, the hosting server records ordinary technical data for each request — the IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs exist for security and fault-finding.
3. What it is used for
An enquiry is used to answer you, to run the conflict check the firm is required to run before accepting instructions, and, if the firm is then instructed, to act. It is not used for marketing, and the firm does not send unsolicited mail.
4. Confidentiality and privilege
Once the firm acts for you, communications between you and the firm attract legal professional privilege and are treated accordingly. Before the firm accepts instructions, an enquiry is treated as confidential but is not privileged — see the note in the terms of use.
5. Who it is shared with
Your information is not sold, rented or exchanged. It is disclosed only: to the firm’s hosting provider, which stores it in the ordinary course of running the site and the mailbox; where disclosure is required by law, by an order of a court, or by a Bar Council or other regulator; and where you ask the firm to disclose it.
6. Third parties this site loads
Two Google services are used, and both mean Google receives the visitor’s IP address:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site.
- Google Maps is embedded on the contact page to show the chambers.
Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy, over which the firm has no control.
7. Cookies
This site sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and there is no visitor analytics package installed on it. The embedded map may set cookies in your browser when it loads.
8. How long it is kept
An enquiry that does not lead to instructions is kept only as long as needed to deal with it and to record that a conflict check was run, and is then deleted. Where the firm is instructed, the file is retained for the period required by the firm’s professional obligations.
9. Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to the mailbox is restricted. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be secure, and ordinary email in particular is not.
10. Asking to see, correct or delete
You may ask what the firm holds about you from this site, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Where the firm is required to retain a record — for a conflict check, or under its professional obligations — it will say so rather than delete it.
11. Changes and contact
This policy may be amended, and the date above shows when it was last reviewed. Requests and questions may be sent to hello@lxnexus.com, or to Chamber No.1, Ground Floor, Saeeda Manzil, 3 Fane Road, Lahore.
